SeAscape has an award winning Befriending Service, funded by the national Lottery, which is open to all residents of South Ayrshire who are over 16 years of age
It is our aim to help the people of South Ayrshire, suffering from loneliness, isolation for one reason or another and help them to make new friends and feel more settled in their homes and communities.
There are three parts to the service,
One to one befriending
Trained Volunteer / befriender who will meet you on a one to one basis for a few hours, once a week. This can be to meet up for a coffee and chat or to take up a hobby or interest like going to the cinema or a gym class for example.
Our peer group is not about giving support or advice for people with addictions or poor mental health issues, it’s more about a relaxing way to spend a few hours to stop thinking about such problems and takes place:
Davis Snooker Club, New Road, Ayr 1.30 pm start (by referral only)
Newest Ten Pin Bowling Group
Our newest group is at the local ten pin bowling alley and is very popular, if you are interested, give Jim a call on 07436033464. It is held every Wednesday at 10am in LA Bowl, Miller Rd, Ayr
Tesco Thursday group
More like a coffee morning type scenario where volunteers and befriendees meet up weekly on a social occasion. This service and its location are helped by amazing team at Tesco in Ayr and their contribution to our service is very appreciated. We play music do some arts and crafts, the occasional line dance tuition, coffee and chat and there are some computers and PCs provided for all with tuition if needed.
we have also expanded these coffee morning type groups into more remote areas of South Ayrshire like Troon / Girvan ( please see posters for days and times.
